Sanchigondu - 'a morsel for the hungry'

Bruhath Bangalore Hotels Association is launching a new campaign to feed those who need it: Starting October 2, you can pay tokens in restaurants and serve warm, nourishing food to anyone in need. Buy a token after your meal and drop it in a dedicated box and voila! Anyone who needs it can obtain a token to exchange for hot, fresh food.

One hotelier who started the project emphasized its need, saying: “During this epidemic, many people have lost their jobs, especially the daily wage workers and many remain without fines and shelters, so the association can help diners with the idea. ”

Dr B L Shankar, president, Karnataka Chitrakala Parishath; Dr Gururaj Karajagi, chairman, Academy of Creative Teaching; and Capt. Naveen Nagappa, Kargil war veteran, have participated at the function to launch the initiative.

It was academician, counsellor and columnist Dr Gururaj Karajagi’s story on ‘One for me and One for the wall’ that inspired the movement.
